MY CHURCH IS TAKING A STAND

Churchbrochure.jpg

The goal of the "My Church is Taking a Stand Campaign" is to increase HIV awareness among faith-based communities.

As a Church, there are so many ways you can take a stand in the fight against HIV/AIDS! So, what can you do?

  • Raise Awareness

In the absence of a Vaccine or Cure for HIV, Prevention is the only social medicine available. You can simply post and distribute campaign information to members of your congregation and throughout your community.

  • Organize an Event

As a Church, you can also get involved by holding an event or fundraising in partnership with Face to Face Enrichment Center. To raise HIV awareness & fundraising, you can participate by organizing a Church Based Event on HIV preventive education, skits, film viewings, and so many other ideas.

  • Conduct HIV Testing

As a campaign partner, your Church can collaborate with Face to Face Enrichment Center to provide Free HIV Counseling & Testing at your church. HIV Testing is provided by certified counselors. Testing requires no blood, no needles, and results are provided in 20 minutes. Results are confidential.

  • Donate to the Cause

Financial help from Churches and the local community is essential in helping us continue to provide HIV Prevention Services. There is no minimum or maximum amount that you can contribute. Any amount is greatly appreciated and will make a difference.  All donors will be recognized in our monthly newsletter titled "Reflections" for their contribution.

The Role of The Church in Addressing The AIDS Epidemic:
A proper faith-based response to the HIV/AIDS epidemic involves a practical approach that aims to stop the spread of the disease and Community Based Care & Support of People Living With HIV. The HIV/AIDS epidemic provides an opportunity for witness to the gospel through comprehensive HIV/AIDS services, advocacy, and other healing ministries. The Church congregations, schools, health facilities, women's, men's, and youth groups need to play a major role by providing awareness, support, education, and care to those affected by HIV/AIDS.

As a Campaign Partner, you will receive brochures and flyers to post and disseminate throughout your congregation. We will also follow up with you on a regular basis to guide in your efforts of taking a stand against HIV/AIDS. There is no cost to participate in this campaign. However, resources are limited, so please sign up today! This campaign targets faith-based institutions/churches in the Greater Baton Rouge Area, with specific focuses on Ascension and East Baton Rouge Parishes. The My Church is Taking a Stand Campaign is funded by the Huey and Angelina Wilson Foundation.
