The COPE Project

Would you like to make a difference in the lives of children of prisoners? Are you willing to create quality relationships with children of prisoners and to serve as a caring role model; thereby contributing to the child's success? If you answered yes to these questions, then please see the information below.

The Community Organizations and Programs that Empower youth Project, also known as The COPE Project utilizes a community-based approach and allows selected mentors to provide a minimum of bi-weekly one-on-one mentoring to their selected mentee match. The duration of each match is required to last one year from the time of the match. Mentees range between the ages of 4-18. Mentoring activities will include visits to the zoo, sporting events, theatrical productions, and other pre-approved sites. The COPE Project is funded by the Baton Rouge Area Foundation/Every Kid a King Fund and the Winn Dixie Foundation.
