Ascension Complete Training (A.C.T.) Program
The A.C.T. Program offers residents of Ascension Parish the opportunity to receive computer literacy training,
as well as participate in Resume Building Workshops.
Becoming A Responsible Teen (B.A.R.T.)
B.A.R.T. is an HIV prevention curriculum primarily for African American adolescents, ages 14-18,
in non-school, community-based settings. It includes interactive group discussions and role plays that have been created
by teens. Teens learn to "spread the word" to their friends about HIV risks.
The COPE Project
The Community Organizations and Programs that Empower youth Project, also known as The COPE Project, is a mentoring program
for children of incarcerated parents. The program utilizes a community-based approach allowing selected mentors to provide
a minimum of bi-weekly one-to-one mentoring to their selected mentee match. This project is funded by the Baton Rouge Area
Foundation/Every Kid a King Fund and the Winn Dixie Foundation.
Defy
Defy is a Louisiana Youth Movement that seeks to reduce the influence of the tobacco industry and promotes tobacco-free
lifestyles. Defy is a youth-driven initiative. A critical component of Defy is youth empowerment and youth ownership.
This project is funded by the Louisiana Public Health Institute/Campaign for Tobacco-Free Living.
HIV Counseling and Testing
OraQuick Rapid HIV Testing is offered free for individuals in the community by appointment only. No blood.
No needles. Results are ready in 20 minutes. This service is funded by the Huey and Angelina Wilson Foundation.
Let's Talk About It
These small group sessions are for women only and allow for an empowering exchange of information. The sessions
take place in a comfortable setting and all information shared is confidential. Topics discussed are: HIV/AIDS, Tobacco
Prevention and Control, Relationships, etc.
Medicaid Application Center
Face
to Face Enrichment Center is a Certified Medicaid Application Center. Applications are accepted from children, women, and
senior citizens. Appointments can be made by calling the office.
Project Connections
Project Connections is designed to improve access to Internet-based health information from the National
Library of Medicine. Get information on topics such as: Smoking, Cancer, Nutrition, Mental Health, etc. This project is funded
by the National Library of Medicine and is offered at both Face to Face sites.
Project FIRST - Females Involved in Reducing Smoking and Tobacco use
This is a coalition of women who
serve as advocates against smoking and tobaccco use in their communities. The group also plans and implements advocacy
events.This program is funded by the Louisiana Public Health Institute/Campaign for Tobacco-Free Living.
SIHLE
- Sisters, Informing, Healing, Living, and Empowering
SIHLE is an intervention primarily with 14-18 year
old African American females. The purpose is to decrease STD, HIV, and pregnancy among teens. The SIHLE intervention is a
small group, skills training intervention to reduce risky behavior among African American adolescent females. This project
is funded by the Louisiana Office of Public Health-HIV/STD Program and is implemented at Face to Face's Hammond site.

Through S.M.I.L.E.
(helping Single Mothers Improve their
Lives Everyday), Face to Face Enrichment Center accepts donated
home furnishing items such as dresser/drawers, beds, tables and chairs, sofas, etc. and distributes those items to single
mothers who are in need. This program is open to single mothers who reside in the parish of Ascension and surrounding
areas.

workers conduct one-on-one interventions and distribute materials and referrals throughout at-risk communities.
